About MorgansMakings

MorgansMakings started with a plush rabbit that did not go as planned.

Before I became a mom, I was already sewing with my future children in mind. I wanted to make soft, sweet, handmade things they could hold, carry, wear, and love. The very first thing I tried to sew was a plush rabbit.

And honestly? It was rough.

I made mistakes. I got frustrated. I had to try again. But somewhere in the middle of the crooked seams, confusing steps, and “what did I do wrong?” moments, I realized something important.

I didn’t want to stop sewing. I wanted to get better.

That little rabbit became part of the reason MorgansMakings exists today.

Hi, I’m Morgan

I’m a twin mom, sewist, pattern designer, and the maker behind MorgansMakings.

I know what it feels like to want to create something beautiful, but only have tiny pockets of time to do it. Nap time, after bedtime, between chores, or when everyone finally gives you five quiet minutes.

I also know what it feels like to be a beginner staring at a pattern and wondering if you’re about to waste your fabric.

That’s why I’m building MorgansMakings for makers who want clear instructions, cute projects, and a little confidence boost along the way.

What MorgansMakings Is

MorgansMakings is a sewing pattern shop for people who want to make useful, giftable, and adorable things without feeling overwhelmed.

Here you’ll find digital PDF patterns for bags, plush animals, dolls, and handmade gifts. My patterns are created with beginners and busy makers in mind, especially moms who want to sew but have to fit creativity into real life.

My goal is simple: to help you start the project, understand the steps, and actually finish with something you’re proud of.

Finished Handmade Goods

Along with digital sewing patterns, I also offer a small selection of finished handmade items when I have them available.

These pieces are usually bags, plushies, gifts, or one-of-a-kind makes created in between pattern designing, testing, and mom life. I love having a place for the things I make with my own hands, and offering finished products lets you bring a little piece of MorgansMakings home even if you don’t sew yourself.

Finished items are limited and may come and go depending on the season, my current projects, and what I’m creating behind the scenes.

Made With Beginners in Mind

When I create a pattern, I think about the person sitting at her sewing machine after a long day.

Maybe she has kids running around. Maybe she only has thirty minutes. Maybe she’s nervous to cut into the fabric she just bought.

I want my patterns to feel like a calm voice saying, “You can do this. Here’s the next step.”

That means I care about:

  • Clear instructions
  • Simple supply lists
  • Beginner-friendly steps
  • Cute finished projects
  • Affordable patterns
  • Practical makes you’ll actually use or gift

I’m still learning and growing as a designer too, and I believe that’s part of what makes this space special. MorgansMakings is not about perfection. It’s about progress, creativity, and making something meaningful with your own hands.

Why I Do This

I started sewing because I wanted to make things for the people I love.

Now, as a mom, that feeling is even stronger.

There’s something special about seeing a handmade bag get carried every day, a plush animal tucked under a little arm, or a gift opened by someone who knows you made it just for them.

That’s the heart of MorgansMakings.

I create patterns for makers who want that feeling too.

The pride of finishing.
The joy of gifting.
The comfort of creating something slowly, stitch by stitch, even in a busy season of life.

Welcome to MorgansMakings

Whether you’re brand new to sewing or just trying to find your way back to your machine, I’m glad you’re here.

I hope this shop helps you feel capable, creative, and excited to make something with your own two hands.

Start with one pattern.
Take it one step at a time.
And remember, you don’t have to sew perfectly to make something beautiful.
